We’re very pleased to officially announce that Monitorama will be returning to Portland, OR this year for another in-person event. With the COVID-19 vaccination rollout proceeding on schedule, we have full confidence that we’ll be able to host a safe event for our participants this year. Please continue reading for more details on what to expect from this event.

What’s Changing

Event Dates

In order to accommodate the full anticipated vaccination schedule (and then some), we’re pushing the event dates back to September 13–15, 2021. This should give everyone who wants to attend plenty of time to plan ahead and make any necessary changes. As always, we will continue to honor our liberal refunds policy; any tickets purchased for this event (going back to the original scheduled June 2020 dates) will be refundable until August 30, 2021.

COVID-19 Vaccination Policy

To ensure the safety and well-being of everyone in attendance, we will be asking everyone participating (including vendors, sponsors, speakers, staff and attendees) to have received a COVID-19 vaccination at least two (2) weeks prior to travel to the event. We are working on a formal policy, but we do not have a timetable for its publication yet.

What’s Staying the Same

Speakers and Talks

The vast majority of our accepted speaker lineup will be joining us for this event, and we couldn’t be more excited to meet up with them (and you) back in Portland this fall. We expect that a handful of speaker slots will have to be backfilled due to scheduling conflicts, and will make a further announcement soon regarding any possible speaking opportunities.

The Venue

One of our favorite aspects of this event, we’ll be returning to Portland Center Stage at the Armory in the Pearl District. This venue is one of my personal all-time favorites and we’re honored to call it home since 2014.

Our Wonderful Community

Like so many of you, we’ve sorely missed being able to come together IRL and share what has become an annual mecca for DevOps practitioners, software engineers and architects, security analysts, managers, vendors, and more. We’ve shared so many highlights and unforgettable moments with you all over the years. Who could ever forget James Mickens’ talk in 2014, the pour-over coffees, an underground fire in 2017, or grabbing lunch with friends at the food trucks? All of you are why we keep coming back for this event, and why we’re so excited to be able to bring it back for another year.

I sincerely hope to see you this fall in Portland. Like you, I’m so anxious to start traveling again and starting some new memories. If you haven’t already, please grab your ticket now and we’ll see you soon!
